SMART grant applications awarded by the Montana Department of Commerce

SMART wrote two grants for the Economic Impact and Destination Events (EIDE) program offered by the Montana Department of Commerce, both of which were awarded. The EIDE program was created by the Department of Commerce to help rural communities host unique events, promoting tourism and generating revenue. This year, EIDE provided more than $828 thousand dollars in grant funding to support rural communities.

SMART and the Town of Plevna received $3,900 for the second annual Plevna Jamboree, scheduled for July 18th. The Jamboree is a one-of-a-kind small town celebration - from mechanical bull rides to live music, the Jamboree has got it all. Funding will go toward a mechanical bull and inflatables, increased advertising, portable bathrooms, and visitor data collection and analysis.

SMART and the Baker Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture were awarded $9,300 for Baker’s Semi-Quincentennial Celebrations on the 3rd and 4th of July. The full agenda of the Semi-Quincentennial will be released later in the spring. Funding will cover the cost of photography and videography for future promotions, advertising, bounce inflatables, portable restrooms, flyers, and visitor data collection and analysis.
