Syrup and Success: Our Pancake Breakfast Recap!
Early on Sunday morning, our team got to work cracking eggs. The sizzle of sausage, the clicking of silverware, and the chatter of friends catching up could be heard all throughout the hall, signaling the start of a historic year. April 19th was the Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser, the first official event to celebrate the Semi-Quincentennial in Fallon County. We were thrilled to serve nearly 100 neighbors, and through your generous donations, we raised $2,118.
None of this would have been possible if it were not for the volunteers who got up before first light to make breakfast. Continental Resources graciously sponsored the breakfast, covering the cost of supplies. Their team was joined by the Grassland Credit Union crew, all of whom flipped pancakes, served plates, and kept the coffee fresh all morning. The Baker Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, Fallon Medical Complex, Fallon County Fairgrounds, and SMART all worked together to organize the breakfast, and put in our fair share of elbow grease, too!
The morning was filled with the cheerful laughter only children bring, smiles and hugs from family and friends saying good morning, and the spirit of a tightly-knit community. Folks filtered in all morning, stopping in before Church, after their cows were fed, in large family groups, or arriving alone to sit at a table full of friends. We are very excited that the fun will continue over the 3rd and 4th of July, and thanks to the funds raised, we are able to bring bigger prizes, more activities for kids, and create even more lasting memories for our community.
100 Guests | 6 Partner Organizations | $2,118 Raised
We are truly grateful for all of those who helped at the breakfast, and for the overwhelming community support for the Semi-Quincentennial Celebration.
